My Live SpaceBlargh! 6/5/2006 More CoffeeNeed...coffee...
I'm having to get up crazy early--for me anyway--for school (I'm taking a class at a community college this summer). My class starts at 8:00am, so I have to set my alarms (yes, "alarms", plural) for 6:00am to give myself time to shower, eat, get dressed, and cover the half-hour commute.
For someone who's grown accustomed to sleeping 'til noon or later, this is hella early. Thus, I need coffee.
The class I'm taking is "Basic PC Literacy". Yawn. I'm posting this during class, and I'm not missing anything. I could probably skip every class from now 'til the end of the term, and still get an A on the final. The only reason I'm taking this class is because it was required for my Degree program.
I'm working on an Associate's Degree in what is probably Computer Science or Computer Technology. I'm not sure because I only know the name of the program: "Information Systems-Network Administration and Support".
In other news, I've been selected for a special group of members on the Gamertag.com Forums, known as the Live Aware*. Basically, between the eight members of the group, we know pretty much everything there is to know about Xbox Live.
Cynn, the owner and operator of Gamertag.com, has set up a special event for the Live Aware this week. What that event is, we don't know yet, but it's probably gonna be sweet.
*See This link. 5/10/2006 I need a new drool bucket......'Cause this one's overflowing. Why, you ask? Simple:
Halo 3.
Yes, it's real. No, you're not hallucinating. Halo 3. Halo frickin' 3.
At Microsoft's pre-E3 conference, Bill Gates himself introduced the official announcement trailer for Halo 3. The trailer looks absolutely astounding. The most pertinent bit of information in the trailer came at the very end: the call to arms, "Finish the Fight 2007". I'd bet money (if I had any right now) that it will release sometime in November.
So, the information drought is over, and has given way to the painful, year-and-a-half wait.
It's gonna be a long-ass year and a half. 3/30/2006 ...Close shut the jaws of Oblivion...I have joined the ranks of the bleary-eyed, sleep-deprived Oblivion-ites.
No, I don't own an Xbox 360--yet.
But a friend of mine does, and he picked up The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion this past weekend. I've been over to his house every afternoon since then, watching my free time vanish into his brand-new HDTV by way of the softly whirring white box on the shelf underneath it.
So far, I've unlocked three Achievements in the main-quest portion of the game--escaping the sewers, closing an Oblivion Gate, and finding the Shrine of Dagon, plus 11 Achievements for completing the Arena side-quest.
I've added my Xbox Live Gamercard to the right. Click on my Gamertag (in the gold bar) or my Gamer Icon to be taken to my Gamer Profile on the Xbox Live website. Click on the game icons on the Gamercard itself or in the list below it to view my Achievements in each--although the only game I have any Acheivements for right now is Oblivion.
If you have an Xbox Gold or Silver membership yourself, and you're signed in with your .NET Passport, it will take you to a page where you can compare my Achievements in that game with your own.
Must...play...Oblivion... 9/22/2005 I'm an author...kinda.Recently I've been working on a little project. I'm writing a fan-fiction story. It's a side-story to "2 Fast 2 Furious" with some characters from the movie and some original characters.
The unfinished prologue is currently "published" on FanFiction.net at http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2576557/1/ . I'm currently planning to have the prologue cover the entire first race of the movie.
BTW, the car the main character drives is pretty much my dream car. 8/9/2005 CoffeeToday, I had my first taste of coffee, and I'd like to point out two things.
First: Coffee tastes nasty. My mom uses French Roast (which, as she described it, is darker and therefore stronger--that is to say, more bitter), and I asked her to make a little extra so I could see what so many people find so addicting about this strange substance. So she made an extra cup.
I didn't get the chance to try it until some time after it was made, so I had to reheat it (actually, I only started with about half a cup), after which I put approximately 1 teaspoon of sugar and a splash of milk into it, stirred it up, and tried a sip. Two words: NOT PLEASANT. Okay, keep experimenting.
Next, I poured in the rest of the coffee, and added about another teaspoon of sugar. Better, but still a little to much bite to it.
Added another teaspoon of sugar, and another splash of milk. This I can live with, although it still needs some tweaking.
Second: That said, once you tone down the bite of the stuff to something that won't make your tounge explode, coffee is wonderful, particularly if you're not entirely awake, and you want something that will launch you into full coherence.
Just don't let it get cold. It gets nasty again. {walks back downstairs to nuke the coffee for the fourth time} 8/4/2005 Randomness, Part 2<rant>
Am I the only one on the planet who checks online message boards more than once or twice a week? Seriously. I have four message boards that I check whenever I get online, and I try to get online once a day, if only for that purpose. And yet, when I checked the boards today, only two of them had been posted to since I checked them yesterday.
One of these boards I can kinda understand people possibly checking to read posts, but not having time to make a post of their own every day. But the other has been a hive of activity recently, and then all of a sudden (relatively speaking), it just stopped.
{sigh} I probably need to not take this so seriously. I have a bad habit of taking things more seriously than they're meant, and I'm trying to work on that.
Come to think of it, there's probably been a post to that one dead-stopped board since I checked it earlier today. {goes off to check the board}
</rant>
{comes back from checking} Nope, still no new posts. Oh well. 7/25/2005 RandomnessOnce agian, not a whole hell of a lot new. In fact, about the only things new are my Book List and the theme I applied to the Space (which may or may not be final). |
